HARTFORD, Wis. – Junior Jacob Phelps shot a +1 (73) Monday to lead the MSOE men's golf team to a ninth-place finish at the WLC Fall Invitational this weekend at the Washington County Golf Course.
The Raiders finished the tournament, which began Sunday, with a score of +64 (640) to miss out on eighth place by just five strokes in the 15-team field.
Phelps shot MSOE's only round in the 70's Monday and used the strong second-day score to finish tied for 20th at +10 (154). Sophomores Dylen Challe and Eric Fulsaas each shot scores of +18 (162) to tie for 40th place, while senior Macon Suckow was just one shot back in a tie for 46th place.
Freshman Andrew Ramirez finished the tournament at +23 (167) and in a tie for 55th place. Freshman Reid Rumack competed as an individual and shaved 12 strokes off his score from round one to two and finished in a tied for 72nd place with a score of +34 (178).
The Raiders are back on the course next Sunday for the first day of the UW-Eau Claire Frank Wrigglesworth Invite.
