BELOIT, Wisconsin - The MSOE women's soccer played with a slightly-shuffled lineup for the second-straight game, prevailing handily at Beloit, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders (3-6) have the weekend off from league play and knocked off the Buccaneers (1-6) to earn a split against Midwest Conference foes.
MSOE swept all six singles points, led by a 6-0, 6-0 victory by sophomore Katie Clements in the No. 1 position. It was her second-straight appearance in the top spot. Meanwhile, sophomore Hannah Marron was a 6-1, 6-3 winner at No. 2 and sophomore Cierra Smith picked up her second-straight win at No. 3, 6-4, 6-3.
Senior Cali Bonie made a second-straight singles appearance and rallied for the No. 4 singles win, 5-7, 6-4, 10-6. The Raiders also received straight-set victories from sophomore Leah Becker at No. 5, 6-4, 6-2, and junior Olivia Boden at No. 6, 6-0, 6-2.
In doubles play, Marron played alongside junior Sammy Soeder in the top position and secured an 8-0 shutout. Smith and Clements rounded out the point-scorers with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. The lone point dropped by the Red & White came at No. 3 and was not without a fight, as the match finished 8-6.
The Raiders return to action next Saturday with an Illinois doubleheader. They play at Aurora at 10 a.m. and follow that up with a match against Illinois Tech at 2 p.m.
