HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- After a slow first two innings, MSOE (25-12, 16-8 NACC) struck in the top of the third as Micah Overley ripped a double to bring Jack Kalitowski. In the next inning, AJ Le hit his first home run of the season with Nolan Wojciechowski singling to bring Francis Ryan into score extending their lead 3-0. St. Norbert (12-28, 6-18 NACC) held the Raiders scoreless the next four innings while tying the game up in the eighth at three heading into the final frame.
- Ryan hit a sacrifice fly to bring Overley in to take the lead, but the Green Knights didn't go down easy as they tied the game once again at four to head to extra innings. After a Kalitowski double and advancing on a pass ball to third, Overley hit a ground ball to the shortstop forcing a misplay to bring in the leading run with the Ninmann looking to close it out again in the bottom half. After getting the first out on a groundball, Ninmann struck out the final two to give the Raiders the 5-4 victory.
- Game Two
- The Raiders wasted no time scoring to begin game two scoring seven runs in the first three innings, highlighted by a Kyle Labedz two run home run. The Green Knights did their best to cut into their deficit with three runs in the bottom of the third, but the Raiders continued to keep adding runs to the scoreboard.
- The Green Knights pitching staff could not control the strike zone at all walking a total of nine batters leading to putting multiple Raiders on base to easily drive in more runs. Additionally, the Raiders found more creative ways to score with coming in on a pass ball, along with a drop third strike in their blowout 16-7 victory.
