WAUKESHA, Wis. – The MSOE swimming & diving team opened their season in a double duel against Carroll University and Lawrence University. The men defeated both the Pioneers and Vikings behind individual wins by Joven Langseth and Mateo Haeuser, while the women finished in second in both their duels behind an individual win from Ava Pike.

MEN'S TEAM RECAP 

• Langseth had two first-place finishes on the day, first in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:05.88, as well as the 100-yard back in 58:43. Haeuser had the other first-place finish for the men, winning the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:00.27. In the relays, The group of Caleb Brewer, Haeuser, Dominic Garcia, and Garin Schilling won the 200-yard medley ina time of 1:38.68, along with the group of Brewer, Haeuser, Langseth, and William Terracina in the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:32.00. Brewer finished second in two events, first the 200-yard freestyle in 1:46.97, along with the 100-yard freestyle in 48.91. Also, in second-place, Hauser in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.36, as well as Brendan Hajdasz in the 1,000-yard freestyle in 11:13.27.
• In third-place, Braedon Loeffelholz finished in 1:54.94 in the 200-yard freestyle, along with Parker Housley in the 100-yard freestyle in 52.28. Hajdasz swam 5:23.82 in the 500-yard freestyle, while Connor Weldon swam 1:06.21 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Schilling took third in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.42, as well as Dom Garcia in the 2:14.68. Riley Mellum took the final third-place spot in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:00.03.

WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP  

• Pike was the lone champion on the women's side, winning the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.38. She followed that up with a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in a time of 58.06. Jocelyn Katte added a second-place finish as well, swimming 1:19.00 in the 100-yard breaststroke. In the relays, the group of Grace Dollevoet, Addy Benner, Virginia Conaty, and Maya Majewski finished in second in the 200-yard freestyle relay, while Dollevoet, Katte, Katie Herbst, and Pike finished in third in the 200-yard medley in 2:05.06.
• Majewski had two third-place finishes on the day, first in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:01.77, and then later in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:21.33. In the long-distance events, Benner finished third in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in 12:58.47.

The Raiders will be back in the pool next weekend for the Wisconsin Showcase, hosted by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Start time is set for 1:00 PM.
