GLENDALE, Wis. – The MSOE baseball team kicked off it's season against RV University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. After having a three run lead midway through, the Raiders couldn't overcome the Titans late.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 9
RV Wisconsin-Oshkosh - 11
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin-Oshkosh (1-0, 0-0 WIAC) tried to rattle MSOE (0-1, 0-0 NACC) by putting up a five-piece in the top of the first but it didn't work at all. The Raiders put up five runs of their own in the bottom half to tie things up. The Titans retook the lead in the top half of the second inning but a drive into left field from Sam Meidenbauer in the bottom of the third tied things at six.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Raiders loaded the bases for Micah Overley as he sent one into center field to bring in Nolan Wojciechowski, which was followed by Collin Truitt ripping one down the right field line to bring in two more runs to give the Raiders a 9-6 lead. Over the next two innings, the Titans tied things up at 9 heading into the final two frames. The Raiders were killed on the day having left nine on base and couldn't add anymore on the scoreboard as the Titans added two more to take a 11-9 win.
