MILWAUKEE – A new era in MSOE athletics kicked off Sunday morning as the women's lacrosse team competed for the first-time hosting College of Saint Benedict. Despite a closely battled first quarter and
Payton Seibert scoring two goals, the Raiders unfortunately fell to the Bennies.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Joce Katte opened the new era with the first goal scored just three minutes in as MSOE (0-1, 0-0 NACC) took a 1-0 lead. Saint Benedict (1-2, 0-0 MWLC) followed up by getting the next three goals before Seibert found her first goal of the game as the Raiders after the first quarter was down 3-2.
- The Bennies exploded as the second quarter went on, scoring nine goals, but had their scoring spree broken up by Maggie Sanderson scoring with 10:36 remaining in the half, as the Raiders found themselves in a hole 12-3.
- The deficit continued to grow as the Raiders were held scoreless in the third quarter, but only allowed four goals. Seibert found her second goal of the game in the fourth quarter to add to the Raider point-total but couldn't stop the CSB attack as they fell 19-4.
