Baseball Wraps Up Florida With Split

DAVENPORT, Fla. – The MSOE baseball team had their final day in Florida as they rolled past UMass Dartmouth but couldn't find their way past Ohio Northern University.

RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 14
UMass Dartmouth – 4

MSOE RAIDERS – 5
Ohio Northern - 9

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Sam Meidenbauer kept RBI streak going hitting a sacrifice fly into left center for the first run of the game. Collin Truitt showed off his legs hitting a two-run triple down the right field line to give MSOE (5-4, 0-0 NACC) a 3-0 lead after an inning played. Brandon Beauchamp wasn't afraid to show some power in the next inning, blasting one into left-center field to blow the game open 5-0 after two played.
    • The Raiders continued to extend their lead to 9-0 past the fourth inning. UMass Dartmouth (4-7, LEC) finally added runs onto the scoreboard, putting down 9-2 midway through the sixth. The Raiders continued to add to their lead, including Kyle Labedz taking one deep to right field as they wrapped up the game in eighth after Micah Overley tripled down the line to win 14-4.
  • Game Two
    • Ohio Northern (5-5, 0-0 OAC) came out of the gates firing in the top half of the first inning as Chris Barnes sent one over the right field fence in the bottom half as the Raiders were down 4-1. The Polar Bears continued to grow their lead, including two home runs in the fifth inning to go up 7-2.
    • The Raiders didn't back down as Meidenbauer did the bulk of the work to put them to within two, down 7-5 after seven. The Polar Bears held strong the final two innings, adding insurance runs in the top of the ninth to hold on 9-5.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES WHO'S ON DECK
