MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's lacrosse team made history Thursday evening in their first win in program history, behind a six goal night from
Lilly Johnson.
RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 11
Augustana - 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a slow start to the game, Johnson netted two of her goals back-to-back, first from Maggie Sanderson and then Joce Katte to give MSOE (1-3, 0-0 NACC) a 2-0 lead all the sudden. Augustana (1-6, 0-0 CCIW) added one on the scoreboard just before the end of the first quarter for a 2-1 deficit, eventually taking a 3-2 after four minutes the second quarter. Johnson and Katte added goals as things were eventually tied back up at the break at four.
- The Raiders completely blanked the Vikings in the third quarter 6-0 as Johnson added three more goals to her night, along with Vayda Flower and Maggie Sanderson getting goals of their own to give the Raiders a 10-4 lead. The Vikings eventually made a run of their own to start the fourth quarter with three straight of their own, but a goal from Olivia Carroll halted any momentum they had going as they closed it out for the first win in program history.
