Illinois Tech - 9
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- Illinois Tech (11-12, 7-3 NACC) led things off with a bang with a leadoff homerun in the bottom of the first inning for the quick 1-0 lead. MSOE (13-8, 7-3 NACC) answered in the top half of the second when Kyle Labedz stepped in with a single to left that brought Micah Overley in to tie it at one.
- Blake Hall decided it was his turn to play long ball in the top of the third, blasting one over the centerfield fence for a 2-1 lead. The Scarlet Hawks from then on didn't allow the Raiders much success as they took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth to hold them off.
- Game Two
- The Scarlet Hawks took a quick 1-0 lead once again in the first inning, but Zach Brzezinski kept things quiet for the next three innings. The Raiders had no answer for the home team the rest of the way as they exploded in the later innings for a 9-0 lead. Brandon Beauchamp helped break the shutout in the top of the ninth driving in both Collin Truitt and Camden Hoier but was ultimately finished.
