MADISON, Wis. – The MSOE Men's Tennis team competed twice on Saturday, dominating Concordia Chicago in a 9-0 victory, before traveling to Carthage and falling 9-0 to the Firebirds.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Vs Concordia Chicago
  • The Raiders were unmatched in doubles competition, as no MSOE duo lost even a single point on the day.  Andres Saavedra and Carlos Calabuig-Patino combined for an 8-0 win, as did the pairings of Alex Nakasato/Yacine Ferjani and Miguel Lopez/Clark Rue.
  • The Raiders were also perfect in singles action, as Patino, Lopez, and Rue each picked up two wins in the first event of the day for the Raiders. 
  • Jannik Michaelis picked up a perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweep of his Cougar opposition, while Emilio Ulloa and Diego Frerye also emerged victorious in straight sets.

• Vs Carthage
  • The Raiders did not win a match but competed fiercely against a talented Firebird team.  Saavedra and Patino battled back-and-forth with Carthage's top pairing, but ultimately fell short in an 8-5 doubles loss.
  • Lopez captured a victory in a marathon 7-6 first set, before losing steam on the way to falling in a third set tiebreaker.
  • Saavedra won multiple games in both singles sets, but would drop in straight sets (7-5, 6-3).
