DAVENPORT, Fla. – The MSOE baseball team wrapped up their trip to the 2025 RussMatt Florida Invitational on Tuesday, as the Raiders closed out the trip with a huge 9-1 win over the Depauw Tigers at NorthEast Regional Park.
RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 9
Depauw Tigers – 1
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elias Lopez took the mound for his second career start against the Tigers, as the freshman immediately began mowing down the Tigers, not allowing a single baserunner through his first five innings of work. Lopez would find support from the Raider offense in the bottom of the first, as Charlie Claas and Christian Bosque crossed the plate to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead.
- The Red and White would spark a long rally in the fourth, as Jake Franks was hit by a pitch to load the bases with no outs. Camden Hoier would smack an RBI single through the right side, followed up by a deep sacrifice fly from Jack Kalitowski. With two outs Bosque rocketed a ball to the left center gap for a double, bringing two runs around, but the MSOE rally would end there, as the sophomore backstop was thrown out trying to stretch the double to a triple.
- After allowing a single run to come across in the sixth, Lopez would shutdown down the Tigers for the remainder of the game, going the distance as he finished with six strikeouts while allowing one hit and one walk in the complete game effort.
