MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's lacrosse team snagged their first victory of the season Saturday afternoon, defeating Illinois Tech behind
Lilly Johnson scoring a career high seven goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (1-7, 1-1 NACC) wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as Maggie Sanderson put one in 28 seconds after the first draw control with her finding Johnson a minute later for a 2-0 lead. The two combined for a three goals in a 1:45 span later in the period to take 5-0 lead before Ashlyn Bode scored and Chloe Ninmann added two to take a 8-0 lead after the first period.
- After Ninmann added a free-position goal, Illinois Tech (1-9, 0-2 NACC) scored their first goal of the game to cut it to 9-1. Johnson added her fourth goal of the game, the Scarlet Hawks added two more to make the game 10-3. Vayda Flower and Johnson each added one to their totals to help give the Raiders a 12-3 lead at the break.
- Both offenses found themselves in a lull in the third, keeping the scoreboard quiet until late when Ninmann scored from Flower to give the Raiders a 13-3 lead at the end of the period. The Scarlet Hawks added more to their total to begin the fourth but Flower and Johnson twice put the final touches to their victorious total.
