Raiders Hold Off Red Hawk Rally

GLENDALE, Wis.  – The MSOE baseball team brought their record back above .500 as they held off a late push from the Ripon College Red Hawks to secure a 7-5 win in front of their home fans.

RESULTS
Ripon – 5
MSOE RAIDERS - 7

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Kaleb Martin took the bump for the Red and White and was dialed in from the first batter, as the freshman from Cedar Rapids, Iowa allowed just two hits in five innings of work against Ripon.  He received immediate run support from his teammates as Joe Stried led off with a single before stealing second, while Christian Bosque followed it up with a base hit to give MSOE an early 1-0 lead.  Jordan Skolmar and Jack Kalitowski would extend the Raider rally, with the Red and White up 3-0 at the end of the first frame.
  • The Raiders would extend their lead in the bottom of the fourth as a Bosque groundout allowed Charlie Claas to score, while Stried was able to come across on a wild pitch from the Red Hawks.  In relief of Martin, MSOE would turn to Aagam Shah and Jayden Hoffman for scoreless innings in relief.
  • After the Red Hawks made a rally in the top of the 8th, Luke Langjahr entered the game with the bases loaded as the Brookfield native got the Raiders out of the jam while preserving the MSOE lead.  Caden Morton would be handed the ball in the ninth as he took care of Ripon in just four batters as the Raiders improved their record to 11-10, back above .500 for the first time since March 8th.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES WHO'S ON DECK
