EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The historical run that the MSOE baseball team had this season came to a close Sunday afternoon, falling in the NCAA Regional final to Belhaven University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After putting pressure on in the first, Belhaven (34-13, 13-5 CCS) struck first with two runs in the second inning and then three runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. In the fifth with runners on the corners, Christian Bosque raced out an infield single to give MSOE (29-18, 18-6 NACC) their first run of the game. AJ Le then stepped in to bring Bosque and Quinn Zills in to score before two batters later, Kyle Mayberry hit and RBI single to cut their deficit to one, 5-4.
- Just when the Raiders felt like they had on the brink, the Blazers added two runs in the sixth to extend the lead 7-4. In the final three innings, the Raiders were only able to produce two base runners but couldn't get any across for an unfortunate end to the season.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
SEASON RECAP
After being voted fifth in the NACC preseason poll, the Raiders finish the season with an overall record of 29-18 and won the regular season title with a conference record of 18-6. The Raiders then went on to win the conference tournament for the second time in four years with a 4-3 win over Marian and then 10-6 and 10-0 victories over Edgewood and claimed their first NCAA tournament wins this weekend.
