GLENDALE, Wis. - The MSOE women's tennis team looked to bounce back from their first conference loss when they took the court on Sunday against Judson University, but the Raiders would come up short despite wins from the #5 and #6 singles slots.
RESULT
Judson University Eagles – 5
MSOE RAIDERS – 2
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles would only play four players in doubles, as the Raiders needed just one win across two matches for a point. The Red and White would take Judson to the limit in both sets but would ultimately fall in both sets by scores of 7-5.
- In singles play, Elizabeth Butargabe would secure a point for the Raiders from the #5 spot, winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 to get the Raiders on the board after yesterday's shutout loss. Autumn Thoresen would add another win for the Red and White from the #6 spot, but it would not be enough to overcome the Eagles, who took the other four singles matchups handily.
WHO'S ON DECK
The Raiders will get back to their conference slate of opponents on Tuesday, September 16
th, when they host the Sabres of Marian University. Matches are set to begin at 6:00 P.M.
