GRINNELL, Iowa – In their first year competing in the Midwest Conference, the men finish second while the women finishing fourth. Head coach
Renata Schlomann was also honored with being named men's head coach of the year.

MEN'S TEAM RECAP
- The first victory of the weekend came on Friday as Tyler VanGompel won the 200-yard IM in 1:50.93, claiming the title by nearly three seconds. VanGompel also finished second in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 49.18. On Saturday, Evan Scapanski won the 100-yard breaststroke in 56.60, just edging second place by .15 seconds. Scapanski added a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, hitting the mat at 2:06.77.
- Caleb Brewer finished in third behind VanGompel in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.63, along with a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in 51.35. Over in the diving events, Nate Kissel took second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 426.35 and third in the 3-meter dive with 391.65. Brewer along with VanGompel and Theo Thomas were also apart of three relays that had second place finishes, with those being the 200-yard medley (1:33.05), 400-yard medley (3:21.82), and the 400-yard freestyle (3:07.22)
WOMEN'S TEAM RECAP
- Gabby Schmid had some of the highest finishes on the weekend for the women, taking second in the 200-yard freestyle on Saturday with a time of 1:58.18, along with a third-place finish in the 200-yard IM in 2:11.76 and 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.19.
- Jocelyn Katte finished in seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:01.61. Chloe Pisanelli finished ninth in 2:38.24, as Ava Pike also had a ninth place finish in the 100-yard freestyle in 56.59. Schmid, Pike, and Katte were also apart of two different relays that finished in fourth, being the 200-yard medley (1:50.95) and the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.12).
SEASON RECAP
The men finish the season undefeated in dual and double dual meets, along with winning the Carthage Classic back in December. The women end the year with three victories, including a double dual sweep over Beloit and North Central back on November 15
th.
