HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • Zach Brzezinski got the start on the mound and was lights out as he held Rockford (12-6, 2-4 NACC) to just one hit through the first four innings. The bottom of the fourth was when MSOE (15-5, 6-0 NACC) opened the scoring as AJ Le and Camden Hoier each reached base to start the inning as Kyle Mayberry sent one over the fence to make it 3-0.
    • The Raiders utilized their smarts on the basepaths in the fifth, stealing home twice on a pair of throw downs that were unsuccessful. Jake Franks added on to the lead in the eighth with a sacrifice fly with bases loaded, making it 6-0. Brzezinski continued to stay dominant on the mound, not allowing another hit until the ninth inning before forcing a flyout to end it.
  • Game Two
    • The Regents got on the board first in game two but their lead didn't last long as Ben Sullivan tied up the game with an RBI double in the bottom of the second to score Hoier to tie the game at one. The Raiders put up a four spot in the third after loading up the bases and drawing a walk and hit by pitch with Charlie Claas scoring two of them on an single to extend the lead 5-1.
    • Hoier started another massive inning for the Raiders in the fourth with RBI single to bring Le around as they put up five runs in the inning to make it 10-1. A pair of groundballs in the fifth scoring two runs, extending the lead 12-1. Despite a run from the Regents in the seventh, Zaidan Eblin helped end the game early on the mound, forcing a fielder's choice up the middle.
