HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game One
- After a pair of scoreless innings, Le put the first run across as he drove in Jake Franks on a single to right. In the fifth, Robby Erickson legged out a potential double-play ball, with the throw to first going over the head of the first baseman to score Camden Hoier for a MSOE (25-7, 16-2 NACC) two-run lead. Benedictine (12-20, 6-10 NACC) cut that deficit in half in the bottom of the inning to make it 2-1.
- The Raiders began to pull away in the later stages of the games that kicked off after a bunt laid down by Erickson went past the first baseman to score both Hoier and Le. Erickson eventually in on a single from Skolmar before a sacrifice fly from Teo Greco scored Charlie Claas to make it 6-1. The Raiders one-upped those four runs with five in the eighth, two coming off bases loaded walks and two off of wild pitches to force the run-rule.
- Game Two
- Claas streaking home on a wild pitch kicked off the opening of game two in the first inning. Le opened the first with a RBI single for Christian Bosque, with Hoier driving him in and then coming home off a balk to lead 4-1. Le and Hoier an inning later drove in runs again to lead 7-0 after four.
- The Eagles began to cut the deficit down in the sixth, putting up three runs to make it 7-3. After a Greco sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh, two more scored in the bottom half as the Eagles cut it to 8-5. Bosque showed off his speed in the eighth, stealing third and then stormed home after an error down to the third baseman, with Ben Sullivan driving in the tenth run of the ballgame on sacrifice fly. Despite another run from the Eagles in the eighth, Aagam Shah shut them down in the ninth to seal it.
