RESULTS
MSOE RAIDERS – 8
Illinois Tech – 0

MSOE RAIDERS – 7
Illinois Tech - 3

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • After a scoreless first, MSOE (18-6, 9-1 NACC) struck in the second as Robby Erickson hit an RBI single up the middle to score Kyle Mayberry. The Raiders added on in the third as hit a sacrifice fly to center to bring home Bryce Flood, making it 2-0. The fourth was when the Raiders truly pulled away as Erickson kicked things off with an RBI single that scored Mayberry and Jordan Skolmar bring in Charlie Claas on a sacrifice fly. The Raiders began to become menaces on the basepaths, first with Erickson stealing home on a throwdown to first and then Bryce Flood coming after a pickle to lead 6-0.
    • Brzezinski was dealing on the mound getting the start, striking out eight total batters and didn't allow his first Illinois Tech (8-13, 3-5 NACC) baserunner until the top of the seventh inning. The Raiders added two more in the eighth to extend their lead as Brzezinski continued to deal, forcing a groundout to end the game.
  • Game Two
    • The Raiders jumped out quickly once again in game two as Ben Sullivan raced home on a wild pitch for the opening run in the bottom of the second. Flood and Franks came around to score after that, making it 3-0 after two. In the fourth, Franks drove in Claas on an RBI single to right, extending the lead to 4-0.
    • The Scarlet Hawks scored their first run of the day in the fifth, loading up the bases while the Raiders forced a double-play ball to make it 4-1. The Raiders answered in the bottom half of the inning on a double steal as Sullivan raced home to extend it 5-1. Another bases loaded situation for the Scarlet Hawks added a run on their end in the top of the sixth, once again being answered in the bottom half as Franks drove in Teo Greco as he led off the inning with a triple and came in on a groundout to push it to 6-2. Sullivan drove in another run in the seventh as despite another run from the Scarlet Hawks coming in the eighth, Owen Walsh shut things down in the ninth to seal the sweep.
