Second-Half Run Pushes Women's Lacrosse Past Marian

MILWAUKEE Ashlyn Bode and Chloe Ninmann posted four goal performances Wednesday afternoon as the MSOE women's lacrosse team used a second-half run away to defeat Marian University on the road.

RESULT
MSOE RAIDERS – 14

Marian - 8

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • MSOE (4-9, 3-2 NACC) found an advantage early as Bode got things started just 3:35 in before Vayda Flower fed Lilly Johnson inside to lead 2-0. Marian (2-10, 1-4 NACC) closed out the first quarter with a pair of goals just 1:09 between themselves to tie up the game at two after one.
  • Bode snagged the lead back with her second goal of the game before the Sabres went on another two-goal run to take their first lead of the game 4-3. Ninmann took advantage on a man-down situation to tie up the game as the two sides traded goals from there to tie up the game at six. Maggie Sanderson rifled one in with 30 seconds remaining in the first half with hopes of having the lead at the break, but the Sabres put one in just 13 seconds later to tie the game at seven at the break.
  • The Raiders opened up the second half on a three-goal run, started by Flower and capped by Bode and Ninmann finishing their hat-tricks for 10-8 advantage. The Sabres ended the run with a goal before the third quarter ended but the Raiders shut them out in the fourth scoring four goals to run away with the game.
