Softball Swept by Falcons to Close Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE softball team closed out the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, as the Red and White were swept by the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin, ending the Raiders playoff hopes on the final day of the regular season.

RESULTS

MSOE RAIDERS – 0
Concordia Wisconsin - 8

MSOE RAIDERS - 2
Concordia Wisconsin - 10

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Game One
    • MSOE (12-26, 9-15 NACC) fell behind CUW (27-13, 18-6 NACC) in the bottom of the second as the Raiders surrendered one run to the Falcons after back-to-back doubles.  The Falcons would tag the Red and White for three more runs in the third inning, before going up 7-0 after the bottom of fourth.
    • After the Raiders were retired in order in the fifth inning, Concordia would single with one out to put a runner on, before stealing second and third to get in scoring position.  The Falcons would shorten the game on a sacrifice fly, holding the Raiders to just three hits in a five-inning 8-0 loss for MSOE.
  • Game Two
    • In game two, the Falcons would jump ahead immediately, tagging the Raiders for three runs on three hits in the first inning, before CUW extended their lead to 7-0 after the third inning.
    • Trailing in the top of the fourth, the Red and White would finally get on the scoreboard, as the first four Raiders reached base to start the frame.  A walk from Rikka Ludvigson and single from Jayda Nelson put two on for MSOE, with Carlee Emery singling to right center for the first Raider run of the twin bill.  Addie Kortman singled down the right field line to bring Nelson around for another MSOE run, cutting the Falcons lead to 7-2 after three and a half innings.
    • Concordia would add three runs in the bottom of the fourth, once again looking to shorten the game and run-rule the Red and White. Back-to-back singles from Autumn Sadler and Ludvigson looked to spark a Raider rally, but the Falcons would record the final outs to end the game early and end MSOE's season.

WHO'S ON DECK
