No. 1 Aurora - 12
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MSOE (29-13, 18-6 NACC) put the opening run across in the top of the first after AJ Le drew a two out walk, advancing to third on a single from Camden Hoier. With runners on first and third, the Raiders ran the steal-stop with ease, allowing Le to score to make it 1-0. Aurora (30-12, 20-4 NACC) had bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning, drawing a walk to tie the game before singling into center to take a 2-1 lead after one.
- The Spartans led off the bottom of the second with a home run to extend the lead, adding another in a bases loaded situation to make it 4-1. By the end of the fifth, the Spartans had doubled their run total, put two across in the fourth and fifth to make it 8-1. With two outs in the seventh, Charlie Claas brought a spark as he doubled down the left field line to bring up Christian Bosque, who singled him in a ball up the middle to make it 8-2. The Spartans would answer that run in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three more in the eighth to end the game early.
