Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Freshman Maria Bintz (Germantown, Wis. / Kettle Moraine Lutheran) had a game-high 12 kills and hit a school-record .688 to lead the MSOE women's volleyball team to an efficient 3-0 sweep of Mount Mary Wednesday evening.
The Raiders (5-9) cruised to the three-set win 25-11, 25-10, 25-12, their second 3-0 win over the Blue Angels (0-14) this season.
In the first set and third sets, MSOE jumped out to large early leads and never looked back. In the first it was 14-2, while the third set saw the Red and White jump ahead 13-3. The second set started out as a close match up with the Raiders holding just a 9-6 lead before they closed on a 16-4 run to take control of the match
MSOE hit .347 for the match as a team. While limiting MMU to negative hitting at -.090. Individually, Bintz's career night came on just 16 attacks with one error. Freshman Rachel Lynde (Colorado Springs, Co. / Rampart) had eight kills while hitting .412. Freshmen Madeline Molnor (Menomonee Falls, Wis. / Menomonee Falls) and Sarabeth Haworth (Colorado Springs, Co. / Mesa Ridge) had eight and seven kills, respectively.
MSOE returns to action with a pair of weekend NACC matches at the Kern Center. The Raiders host Benedictine Friday at 7 p.m. and Concordia Chicago Saturday at 6 p.m.
