SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Senior Drew Porter scored the game's lone goal in just the fifth minute as the MSOE men's soccer team claimed a place in the NACC Tournament with a 1-0 win against at Lakeland Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders (10-4-3, 6-3 NACC) have 18 points in the NACC standings and have secured a place in next weekend's conference tournament. MSOE could be seeded third through fifth pending the outcome of remaining matches throughout the conference.

Porter scored his fifth goal of the season, and fourth in the opening 10 minutes of a match, to give the Red and White all the offense it would need. Senior Mat Braden assisted on the goal.

The defense took over from there, as junior Garrett Farin made six saves to collect his third shutout of the season. MSOE outshot its hosts 14-10, including an 8-6 advantage in shots on goal.

The Raiders close out the regular season Tuesday, hosting Dominican on campus at Viets Field (formerly MSOE Field). Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
