MILWAUKEE – Three different players scored as the MSOE men's soccer team defeated Wisconsin Lutheran 3-0 Saturday afternoon at MSOE Field.

The Raiders (7-1-3, 4-0 NACC) got a goal and assist from sophomore Gerardo Rubio (Rockford, Ill. / Auburn) and two assists from sophomore Logan Andryk (Hartland, Wis. / Marquette) in a match that featured an 82-minute lightning delay with 15:31 remaining.

Both teams had their chances in the first half, but it was MSOE that struck first on freshman Aleksander Spasic's (Hudson, Wis. / Hudson) second goal of the season. Rubio dribbled down the near side and whipped a cross into the six-yard box. Spasic beat a defender and the keeper to the ball to finish for the eventual game-winner.

The score came in the 39th minute and the Red and White carried the 1-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, sophomore Brock Shilling (New Berlin, Wis. / West) doubled his side's advantage when he finished at the near post on a corner kick in the 68th minute.

Andryk sent the corner kick, which was first hit by sophomore Michael Skow (Mequon, Wis. / Homestead) and then finished by Shilling.

Seven minutes later, the sides had to wait out a lengthy lightning delay. When the team's returned to the field, the Raiders tacked on a third goal, this time from Rubio. Another Andryk corner set the play up, but this time, Rubio beat his defender to the near post and headed it home for an insurance goal in the 86th minute.

Junior Garrett Farin (Madison, Wis. / East) made five saves for the shutout, but was not without help. Skow picked up a team save clearing a bouncing header off the line in the 80th minute.

MSOE takes a break from conference play its next time out, hosting UW-Platteville at MSOE Field Wednesday at 7 p.m.
