Box Score MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Michael Skow headed home a long cross from sophomore Logan Andryk just into the second minute of double overtime to send the MSOE men's soccer team to a 2-1 victory over UW-Platteville Wednesday evening at MSOE Field.
The Raiders (8-1-3) are now unbeaten in their last eight games (7-0-1) and have won five-straight games.
The game-winning play started at the near sideline when Andryk chased down a ball. He back-heeled the ball and spun past the defender before unleashing a cross to the far post. Skow was there to head the ball into the net and end the game in the 102nd minute.
That goal capped an evenly-played match that saw both teams with opportunities to win in regulation. UWP, however, ended with an 18-13 shot advantage and 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
The Pioneers got on the board in just the seventh minute. Hunter McMahon sent a bouncing ball into the box and Michael Prudisch beat the Raider keeper to the ball and chipped it into the net.
Senior Jake Tenut struck for the equalizer in the 57th minute with an assist from sophomore Daniel Frey. Frey slotted a pass to Tenut in the midfield. He let the ball run a bit and then blasted a shot across the goal to the far post from 40 yards out.
Junior Garrett Farin and his counterpart, Ian Christensen, each made four saves on the night.
The Raiders return to action Saturday, hosting Benedictine at 1 p.m. at MSOE Field. The matchup will feature the only two teams in the NACC without a loss.
