Raiders Open Busy Week With Loss To CUW

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The MSOE women's tennis team played the first of six matches this week Tuesday afternoon, falling to Concordia Wisconsin 7-2 at McKinley Courts.

The Raiders (1-5) scored points at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions against the undefeated Falcons (6-0), but it was not enough as they dropped their fifth-straight decision.

Junior Marly Trier (Port Washington, Wis. / Port Washington) continued her tremendous campaign, picking up her third-straight win at No. 1 singles. After a tight 7-5 win in the first set, she rolled to a straight-sets win with a 6-1 victory in set two. She is now 5-1 in the No. 1 singles position this season.

MSOE also scored a victory in the No. 2 singles position, as sophomore Michelle Roubik (Muskego, Wis. / Muskego) was awarded the point when Emily McCormick retired with an injury.

The Red and White have little rest, as it plays five road matches in the next five days. Wednesday, the Raiders head to Kenosha, Wis., to play Carthage.
