Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Sophomore Logan Andryk (Hartland, Wis. / Marquette) scored his fourth goal of the week and junior Garrett Farin (Madison, Wis. / East) posted a shutout in goal to send the MSOE men's soccer team past Lake Forest 1-0 Friday afternoon.
The Raiders (3-1-2) remained unbeaten through five road games this season (3-0-2).
Andryk has now scored or assisted on MSOE's last six goals and is up to six goals and one assist this season. On Wednesday, he scored three goals and assisted on the fourth in a 4-1 win at Beloit. The All-American was second in the conference with 14 goals last season.
He found the back of the net in the 43rd minute, unassisted, and provided all of the offense MSOE would need.
On the defensive end, Farin posted his second shutout of the season while lowering his goals against average to 0.73. He is averaging four saves per game and has stopped 85.7 percent of the shots he's faced. On Friday, he stopped the only Forester shot on goal.
Much of the match was played in the midfield, with the two teams combining on just 11 shots. MSOE held a slight 6-5 shot advantage and took three of the four corner kicks in the match. Three of the Raiders' shots were on goal, forcing LFC keeper Ian Taylor into a pair of saves.
MSOE returns to action next Wednesday at North Central (Ill.). The Raiders and Cardinals kick off at 7 p.m. in Naperville, Ill.
