Box Score MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The MSOE women's soccer team scored six first-half goals and did not allow a single shot in rolling past Rockford 8-0 Tuesday evening at MSOE Field.
The Raiders (3-4, 2-0 NACC) dominated possession without the match and did not allow a meaningful Regent (0-7, 0-2 NACC) possession in its defensive third.
MSOE had six different players find the back of the net, led by two goals apiece from senior Paula Bohl (Muskego, Wis. / Muskego) and freshman Ally Brehm (Homer Glen, Ill. / Lockport Township). Bohl added a pair of assists, while two more goal scorers also assisted on goals for others.
Bohl got the scoring started in just the fifth minute off an assist from senior Shelby Struble (Steamboat Springs, Colo. / Steamboat Springs). Bohl then tallied the first of her two assists in the 18th minute, setting up freshman Becca Keller's (Waterloo, Wis. / Lake Mills) goal.
The Raider's third and fourth goals came just 38 seconds apart, as freshman Sara Travia (Glendale, Wis. / Nicolet) scored her fifth goal of the season at 20:38 and Bohl followed with her second score at 21:16.
Brehm then picked up her first collegiate points with back-to-back goals in the 32nd and 43rd minutes to give MSOE a 6-0 lead at halftime.
In the opening frame, the Red and White took 20 shots and forced Rockford keeper Alyssa Nicholson into eight of her 15 total saves. After halftime, it was much more subdued, as MSOE scored twice—sophomore Aly Loepfe (Brookfield, Wis. / East) in the 49th and freshman Jordyn Reitz (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Prairie Ridge) unassisted in the 81st—while putting up another 17 shots.
For the match, the Raiders outshot the Regents 37-0 and took 10 corner kicks. In addition to the scorers, sophomore Natalie Gayner (Whitefish, Mt. / Whitefish) also got on the scoresheet with a pair of assists.
MSOE will ride a two-game winning streak into action Thursday at Carthage in Kenosha. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
