Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. - The MSOE men's soccer team scored three times in the second half to erase a 1-0 halftime deficit and win 3-1 against Concordia Chicago Saturday afternoon at Concordia Stadium.
The Raiders (5-1-3, 3-0 NACC) outshot the Cougars (3-7, 0-3 NACC) 35-10 on the day to remain perfect in conference play through three matches.
Despite a 16-4 shot advantage in the first half, including 10 on goal, MSOE conceded first in the 39th minute and had to play catch up the remainder of the opening period and the start to the second.
That lasted about 13 minutes, as freshman Gerardo Rubio (Rockford, Ill. / Auburn) scored for the second-straight game to level the score at 1-1. He finished off an assist from senior Drew Porter (Milwaukee, Wis. / Dominican) and got the Raider offense going.
MSOE pulled ahead on a penalty kick by sophomore Logan Andryk (Hartland, Wis. / Marquette) and did not look back. For Andyryk, it was his league-leading 11th goal of the season and held up for his fourth game-winner on the campaign, as well.
Senior Dominic Ridolfi (Kenosha, Wis. / Tremper) gave the Raiders some breathing room with first goal of the season, finishing off an assist from freshman Brock Shilling (New Berlin, Wis / West) in the 73rd minute.
The Red and White offense was on point all day, putting 17 of its 35 shots on frame, while also forcing nine corner kicks. Junior Garrett Farin (Madison, Wis. / East) made four saves for the win in goal, including his final stop on a Dylan Pavlisin shot as time expired.
Concordia had jumped ahead on Kyle Bergmann's unassisted goal, but was not able to hold off MSOE in the second half. Roberto Aragon did his best in goal, stopping 14 Raider shots.
MSOE returns to action next Saturday, hosting Wisconsin Lutheran at MSOE Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
