Box Score WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Freshman Braden Andryk scored two goals in the second half, each time off an assist from his older brother Logan, to send the MSOE men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Wisconsin Lutheran Saturday afternoon at Warrior Soccer Field.
The Raiders (9-3, 4-0 NACC) got the goals they needed and their defense did the rest against the Warriors (7-6, 1-3 NACC) in a matchup of the top two offenses in the conference.
After a scoreless first half, the yunger Andryk struck for what proved to be the game-winning goal just 39 seconds into the second half. Junior Logan Andryk earned an assist on the play, sending his bother atop the team's goal-scoring chart with his seventh of the season.
The brothers went back to work midway through the frame, combining for an insurance goal in the 69th minute. The assists gave Logan a nation-leading 16 this season.
MSOE entered the match with 34 goals in 11 matches for an average of 3.1 per game to lead the conference. The Warriors had a NACC-best 36 goals in 12 games (3.0/game). The Raider defense proved up to the task, earning its side a 12-11 shot advantage and posting a seventh shutout of the season.
Senior Garrett Farin made four stops in the game for his fifth shutout of the season and the 21st of his career. He is fourth in NACC history in that category.
The Raiders return to action Tuesday at UW-Platteville.
