MADISON, Wis. - The MSOE men's tennis team split the singles points, but won two of the three doubles points to claim a 5-4 win over Edgewood Saturday evening at Hitters Sportsplex.
The match was the NACC opener for both teams, with the Raiders (3-8, 1-0 NACC) getting their conference run off to a positive start.
Freshman John Price scored two points for MSOE, claiming a strong 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and teaming with freshman Tom Smith for an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles. The team's other doubles point came in the No. 2 position, where juniors Zachary Dam and Matt Slaughter teamed for an 8-1 victory.
Senior Eric Klamrowski rebounded from a pair of losses to get back in the win column at No. 1 singles. He downed his Eagle counterpart 7-5, 6-2 to improve to 6-4 on the season. Senior Reekah Delfanian was MSOE's third singles winner, competing at No. 3 singles. He was winning 4-2 in the opening set when his opponent retired.
The Raiders return to action Wednesday, April 9, hosting Wisconsuin Lutheran at Lake Park.
