MILWAUKEE - The MSOE men's tennis team claimed all three doubles points and wins at the top five singles positions on its way to an 8-1 victory over Lakeland Wednesday afternoon at the Lake Park Tennis Courts.
The Raiders (8-9, 6-1 NACC) have now won five-straight matches and remain in the hunt for the top seed in the NACC Tournament.
MSOE mixed up its lineup a bit with great success. Senior Eric Klamrowski got the day off, allowing junior Zachary Dam and freshman David Gorodetsky to slide up a position in singles. Dam won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1 and Gorodetsky won by the same score at No. 2.
Senir Reekah Delfanian rebounded from a tight 7-5 opening set to take his match with a 6-0 second set at No. 3 singles. Freshman John Price was the last Red and White regular to play singles, claiming a 6-1, 6-0 win up one slot from his usual place at No. 5.
Freshman Lucas Ferrando made his collegiate singles debut with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles.
In doubles play, Dam and his partner, junior Matthew Slaughter moved into the No. 1 position and won 8-3. Price and freshman Tom Smith moved from their usual No. 3 place to No. 2 and won 8-2.
The pairing of senior Steve Smith and junior Andrew Kosasih played at No. 3 doubles and won 8-0.
MSOE closes out the regular season Saturday, hosting Rockford (10 a.m.) and Aurora (2 p.m.) at the McKinley Tennis Courts.
