AURORA, Ill. - The MSOE women's tennis team dropped a pair of NACC matches Saturday in Illinois, falling to Benedictine 8-1 in Lisle in the morning and 7-2 at Aurora in the afternoon.
The Raiders (0-3, 0-2 NACC) picked up their lone point against the Eagles (1-0, 1-0 NACC) in the No. 2 doubles position, as sophomore Shelly Lee and junior Melanie Avery. The duo scored a 9-7 decision for their first doubles win of the season.
Against the Spartans (1-1, 1-1 NACC), MSOE picked up wins in their top two singles spots. Senior Marly Trier scored a straight-set 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. At No. 2, freshman Carly Grant was victorious in a shortened match. She played a pair of tiebreakers with her opponent, winning 7-5, 7-3.
The Red & White starts its home schedule Wednesday, hosting Lawrence at 9 a.m. and Edgewood at 4 p.m.
