MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's soccer team could not get its offense on track in falling to Elmhurst 3-1 Tuesday evening at Viets Field.

Freshman Missy Schultz added a late score for the Raiders (4-2-1), but it was not enough against the Bluejays (5-2).

Elmhurst struck for a pair of first-half scores, with Meagan McPherson notching a goal in the 13th minute and Kelsey Jasinski making it 2-0 in the 31st minute off a corner kick.

Sophomore Maria Schumacher made a tremendous stop in the 10th minute to deny the Bluejays another score. Briana Small took a corner from the near side and Schumacher followed the ball as it looked to tuck in the far post, but her header cleared the attempt off the line and out of danger.

The Raiders' best chance of the first half came in the 23rd minute, when junior Caitlin Liddiard teed up a shot from about 20 yards out. Her attempt was just high, glancing off the top of the cross bar.

The Bluejays would make it 3-0 in the 59th minute, but that didn't stop MSOE from pushing forward. Freshman Carly Mitus got her head on the end of a long ball into the box, but the EC keeper was there to save it off the cross bar.

Schultz did get the Raiders on the board in the 88th minute. Junior Tori St. Martin pushed forward from her center back position and drove towards the end line. She cut a centering pass into the box where Schultz was to one-time the ball into the net.

Elmhurst held a 12-8 shot advantage in the match. MSOE forced a pair of visiting keepers into three saves, while two players saw time in the nets for the Raiders. Junior Margot Giesey got the start and played the first half and freshman Mary McFee took the second half. Neither player registered a save.

The Red & White return to the field Saturday, hosting Concordia Chicago at 1 p.m.
