Raiders Come Up Short Against Alverno

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Freshman Carly Grant extended her singles winning streak and junior Brittany Kelley her second No. 3 singles win to lead the MSOE women's tennis team in a 6-3 loss to Alverno Wednesday evening at Hart Park.

The Raiders (2-11, 2-6 NACC) added a point at No. 1 doubles, but it was not enough against the Inferno (7-5, 4-4 NACC).

Grant has now won eight-straight singles matches, scoring a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles Wednesday. The victory pushed her record this season up to 10-3. She added a doubles win, teaming with senior Marly Trier in the No. 1 position. MSOE's top two players won easily, 8-0.

Kelley was playing in the No. 3 position for the third time this season and scored a 6-3, 6-2 victory.

The Raiders are back on the courts Saturday, playing a pair of local rivals on the Road. The Red & White head up to Mequon to take on Concordia Wisconsin at 10 a.m. and play at Wisconsin Lutheran at 2 p.m.
