MILWAUKEE – Sophomore Sara Travia scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the MSOE women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Concordia Chicago Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.

The Raiders (5-3-1, 1-1 NACC) outshot the Cougars (5-4, 0-3 NACC) 21-7 in the match, building on a 1-0 halftime lead with a pair of scores in the second half.

MSOE controlled the momentum in the match throughout and Travia got the scoring started in just the 16th minute. She took a pass out of the midfield and dribbling 30 yards down the center of the field before ripping a shot from 20 yards out.

The home team held a 10-3 shot advantage in the opening frame and just added to it in the second. The Raiders found the back of the net two more times midway through the half, doing so in a 3:03 span.

Junior Natalie Gayner set up the second goal, taking a diagonal ball in the box before being tumbled over by a defender to earn a penalty kick. Travia stepped up to the penalty spot and beat the keeper for her team-best ninth goal of the season.

Gayner scored a goal in her fourth-straight appearance just over three minutes later. Travia found her across the box with another diagonal cross. Gayner used her first touch to get it past the keeper and her second to roll it inside the far post to make it 3-0.

MSOE had a number of other chances in the matches, hitting the post twice.

Freshman Mary McFee made her first collegiate start in goal and made two saves for the shutout. She is the third different Red & White keeper to post a clean sheet this season.

The Raiders return to the field Tuesday at Lake Forest. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
