Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The MSOE women's soccer team surrendered a pair of goals in each half in falling to undefeated Lake Forest 4-1 Tuesday afternoon at Farwell Field.
The Raiders (5-4-1) trailed 2-0 at halftime, but pulled within 2-1 of the Foresters (11-0) shortly after the break.
Michelle Greenway scored LFC's first two goals, tallying her 14th score of the season in just the 11th minute. She then doubled her side's advantage with her 15th just 35 minutes before intermission.
Sophomore Rachael Griffin scored her first collegiate goal to get MSOE back in the game, finishing off an assist from junior Anna O'Donnell, just over 14 minutes into the second half.
Unfortunately, the Foresters would pull away, regaining a two-goal advantage just over two minutes later when Holly Lesperance scored. The final score came in the 80th minute.
MSOE played LFC, which is receiving votes in this week's NSCAA national poll, tough. The Raiders were only slightly outshot 17-16 and put eight of those shots on frame. Freshman Mary McFee got the start in goal, making seven saves in the match.
After a match away from conference play, the Red & White return to the NACC Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran. The Raiders and Vikings kick off at 1 p.m.
