Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – For the second-straight match, the MSOE men's soccer team was a victim of a long goal in falling 1-0, this time at Dominican Saturday afternoon at West Campus Field.
The Raiders (9-4, 4-2 NACC) suffered just their second NACC loss of the season as the Stars (8-2-2, 5-0-1 NACC) benefited from Zack Venzon's goal in the 72nd minute.
The match shaped up to be a physical, defensive struggle as the teams combined on 33 fouls and 18 shots in the match.
Venzon's goal was the difference, as he settled a ball at the top of the box. He sent his shot high and just under the bar for a 1-0 advantage.
Junior Sean Stelter made six saves in the match as the home side held a slight 10-8 shot advantage. Three of MSOE's shots were on goal.
The Raiders will look to reclaim their winning ways Saturday, hosting Benedictine at 1 p.m.
