MEQUON, Wis. – The MSOE women's tennis team closed out its NACC schedule by splitting two matches against Wisconsin Lutheran and Concordia Wisconsin Saturday at CUW Tennis Courts.
The Raiders (5-10, 5-5 NACC) defeated Wisconsin Lutheran 5-4 in the first match of the day, but fell to Concordia Wisconsin 9-0 in the finale.
MSOE finished the NACC season tied for fifth in the conference standings, but missed out on the NACC Tournament in the spring due to tiebreakers with Alverno and Marian.
Against the Warriors, the Red & White came out of doubles play with a 2-1 lead and claimed three more points in singles to take the match. Senior Michelle Roubik and sophomore Carly Grant were each double winners for the Raiders.
Roubik and Grant paired for an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Then, in singles, Grant claimed her No. 1 point 6-2, 6-2. Roubik played at No. 5 singles, rebounding from a first-set loss for a 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Seniors Melanie Avery and Brittany Kelley played at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-2. Freshman Cali Bonie round out the team's points at No. 3 singles with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 win.
The Raiders close out the season Sunday hosting Westminster (Mo.) at Nicolet High School.
