Raiders Fall in NACC Opener at WLC

Box Score

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – Senior Austin Stueck topped 20 points for the ninth-straight game and senior Connor Patterson posted a double-double as the MSOE men's basketball team opened NACC play with an 81-63 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran Saturday afternoon at the Recreation Complex.

The Raiders' (1-4, 0-1 NACC) offense struggled in the game, shooting just 41.8 percent to the Warriors' (2-3, 1-0 NACC) 51.6 percent and turned the ball over nine more times (19-10).

Stueck's 20-point streak dates back to last season after he tallied 27 against WLC on 8-of-19 shooting with four made three-pointers. He's averaging 25.3 points and 3.8 made three-pointers per game through four games this season.

Patterson finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for MSOE, while junior Collin Seubert notched 12 points in the game.

Four Warrior starters reached double-figures in the game with Chase Nowak scoring a team-high 19. Jake Jarnigo added 13 and Jim Maroes and Tanner Shieve had 12 points each.

Wisconsin Lutheran never trailed in the game, taking a 39-26 lead into halftime and leading by as many as 22 in the second half.

The Raiders hit on just 6-of-21 three-point attempts and went 11-for-18 from the free throw line. They were thwarted by WLC's efficiency in the paint, where it scored 44 points, and the home team's ability to turn 19 turnovers into 22 points. Wisconsin Lutheran made just 2-of-10 three-pointers and was just 15-of-24 at the charity stripe.

MSOE continues a five-game road trip Tuesday, when they return to the court at Edgewood.
