Box Score MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's basketball defense limited Dominican to just 23.6 percent shooting in cruising to a 68-36 victory Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (3-4, 3-1 NACC) got double-doubles from senior Megan Kroll and junior Holly Denfeld and never trailed in downing the Stars (1-8, 1-4 NACC) for their third-straight win.
Kroll finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and four steals in the game, while Denfeld tallied 10 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Margaret Pugh actually was the team's top scorer with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Jasmyn Hardin paced Dominican with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Red & White jumped out to a 16-lead after the first quarter and led 34-16 at halftime. The lead expanded to 54-27 heading into the final period and peaked at 34 midway through the fourth quarter.
MSOE rebounded from some early shooting struggles to finish at 36 percent for the game, including 3-of-9 from three-point range. Pugh knocked down all three triples, finishing 3-for-3 in the game. The Raiders also held a 53-37 rebounding advantage and turned the ball over a school-record low seven times.
On the defensive end, the Stars made just 13-of-55 from the field, including 2-for-16 on three-point attempts. They also turned the ball over 19 times in the game.
The Raiders return to the court Monday, playing at Maranatha Baptist University.
