GLENDALE, Wis. - Three different players won both their singles and doubles matches as the MSOE men's tennis team defeated St. Norbert 6-3 for its third-straight win Sunday afternoon at Elite Sports Club.
The Raiders (3-3) downed the Green Knights (1-4) behind double point-scorers in senior Matthew Slaughter and sophomores John Price and Mason Sauder.
Slaughter was pushed to three sets at No. 3 singles, but came away with his second-straight singles win 6-2, 0-6, 6-1. He also paired with Price at No. 2 doubles, as the duo won 8-6. Playing at No. 4 singles, Price was a straight-sets winner, 6-3, 6-2.
Sauder pushed his personal winning streak to 10 matches overall, securing fifth-straight wins in both singles and doubles. At No. 6 singles, he bounced back from a 6-4 loss in set one, to win the next two sets 6-1, 6-2. Alongside sophomore Tom Smith at No. 3 doubles, they shut out their SNC opponents 8-0.
Senior Zachary Dam was also a winner on the day, playing at No. 2 singles and going the distance for the win. He came back for a 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory.
MSOE will look to continue its winning streak next Saturday, as its heads to Illinois to take on Lake Forest.
