LISLE, Ill. – The MSOE women's basketball saw the 2014-15 season come to an end with a 71-59 loss to Benedictine in the NACC Semifinals Wednesday evening at the Rice Center.

The Raiders (20-7) saw their school-record campaign come to an end, while the Eagles (18-9) advance to take on No. 1 Wisconsin Lutheran in the NACC Championship Saturday evening.

Sophomore Holly Denfeld finished with 14 points, 17 rebounds and four blocks in the game. Junior Megan Kroll also had an all-around strong game with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Sophomore Shaylan Reardon scored a game-high 15 points to go with six rebounds and four assists.

Meghan Novak and Alanna Farry equaled Reardon's 15 points to lead Benedictine. Nicole Botich chipped in 10 points.

MSOE led by as many in seven in the first half and took just a 31-28 lead into halftime.

Benedictine overtook the Raiders early in the second half and forced them into playing catch up the rest of the game. MSOE last led at 34-32 and was within one at 38-37 with 13:11 to go. The Eagles continued to gradually pull away down the stretch and made 13 free throws in the final minutes to hold off the Red & White comeback attempts.

BenU shot 47.8 percent from the field and benefited from 32 trips to the free throw line, converting on 24. The Raiders finished the night shooting 40.7 percent, making six 3-pointers and hitting nine of just 16 free throw tries.

MSOE capped a standout season with a school records of 20 wins and 15 conference wins. The Red & White won its second NACC Tournament game since joining the conference and advanced to the semifinals for the second time (2007).
