Box Score MILWAUKEE – Senior Logan Andryk tied Jeff Stoxen's school record of 136 career points by assisting on senior Mike Skow's game-winning goal in the 96th minute and sending the MSOE men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Dubuque in overtime Saturday afternoon in Viets Field.
The Raiders (4-1) won their fourth-straight match, downing the previously unbeaten Spartans (3-1-1) in come-from-behind fashion.
Consecutive fouls set up a free kick for MSOE in the attacking half. From 25 yards out, Andryk sent the free kick to the box and Skow collected the pass, took a touch and beat the keeper far post for the win.
The assist, the league and school-record 46th of Andryk's career, equaled the midfielder with Jeff Stoxen for first in school history with 136 points. He is also now just six points from Matt Kochanowski's (Dominican) NACC record of 142 career points.
Skow's winner capped a comeback after UD took a 1-0 lead in just the third minute. The Raiders would pull that goal back through sophomore Braden Andryk in the 35th minute. They pressed the Spartan defense on a ball in the box and after a failed clearance, the younger Andryk was there to put the ball in the net and level the game at 1-1.
MSOE held a 24-17 edge in shots for the match and gained a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks. Nine of the Red & White shots went on goal, forcing Dubuque's Riley Jensen into seven saves. Freshman Riley Bruce got the start in goal for the Raiders and made two saves in the first half. Junior Jeff Clements played the final 50-plus minutes in goal, making two saves and earning the win.
After winning all four games of its homestand, MSOE returns to the road Wednesday, playing at UW-Oshkosh.
