Box Score MILWAUKEE – Concordia Wisconsin scored once in each half to get past the MSOE women's soccer team 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Viets Field.
The Raiders (5-4, 1-2 NACC) played a strong defensive game, but found the Falcons' (6-1-2, 2-0 NACC) defense tough to crack.
Concordia opened the scoring in the 10th minute, with Nicole Ciesielczyk finishing off a centering pass from her sister Emily to give the visitors the 1-0 lead. It was then Emily that scored the insurance goal in the 83rd minute, lofting a shot from the top of the box under the crossbar and in.
The Falcons finished with a 15-10 shot advantage, while junior Sydney Stephens and sophomore Mary McFee combined on eight saves in the match. Tabitha Ortiz made four saves for the Falcons to earn the shutout, including a lunging stop midway through the second half to keep the score 1-0.
The Raiders return to the field Tuesday, playing at Elmhurst.
