Box Score ELMURST, Ill. – Senior Aly Loepfe converted a fourth-minute penalty kick and sophomore Mary McFee made a career-high nine saves, but it was not enough as Elmhurst scored a pair of second-half goals for a 2-1 victory Tuesday evening at Langhorst Field.
The Raiders (5-5) took an early 1-0 lead through Loepfe's third goal of the season, but the Bluejays (5-2-1) scored twice in a 6:28 span to secure the win.
MSOE preserved its 1-0 lead through the rest of the first half, but the home side pulled even with a penalty kick of its own less than eight minutes after halftime. Elmhurst then pulled into the lead when Emily Heimerdinger beat McFee to a bounding ball and tipped it over the on-rushing keeper for the winner.
EC held a 17-14 shot advantage for the match, including 12-5 in shots on goal. Junior Sara Travia led the Red & White attack with six shots in the match.
The Raiders return to action Saturday, playing at Alverno.
