MILWAUKEE – Senior Michelle Roubik won both her singles and doubles points in her return to the team, but the MSOE women's tennis team fell to Aurora 6-3 in its NACC opener Saturday afternoon at Lake Park.
The Raiders (0-4, 0-1 NACC) took a 2-1 lead out of doubles play, but the Spartans (1-1, 1-1 NACC) conceded just one singles point in claiming the match.
Roubik, who studied abroad last season, made her season debut and paired with senior Melanie Avery for an 8-1 win in doubles. She then played at No. 4 singles and scored a comeback three-set win, 2-6, 6-4 (7-0).
Three other singles matches went to three sets, but unfortunately the Spartans won the decisive set each time.
MSOE opened the season Tuesday and will already be playing their fifth and sixth matches Sunday when they return to action in Madison. The Raiders will play at Edgewood and then take on Mount Mary.
