Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Senior Austin Stueck had 24 points and 15 rebounds to lead the MSOE men's basketball to a 78-67 win over Concordia Chicago Saturday afternoon at Geiseman Gymnasium.
The Raiders (9-6, 6-4 NACC) broke open a four-point game at halftime by scoring 15 of the first 16 points of the second half to roll past the Cougars (4-10, 4-7 NACC) for the second time this season.
Senior Connor Patterson finished an efficient afternoon with 17 points on 7-of-8 shooting and seven rebounds. Junior Collin Seubert added 15 points in the game.
Mitch Pelissier paced Concordia Chicago with 19 points. Three other players had 11 points apiece in Justin Saar, Rodney Castor and LaRon Wade.
The Raiders led 36-32 at halftime after a tight first half and blew the game open early in the second half to pull ahead 49-33 just over five minutes into the half. While they opened on a 15-1 run, they also held the home team without a basket for the first 7:27 of the period.
After the Cougar offense responded to the run with four-straight points from Pelissier, Patterson responded with a free throw and layup before sophomore Nolan Henton dropped a three-pointer for a game-high 18-point advantage at 55-37 with 11:26 remaining in the game.
CUC would get no closer than eight points the rest of the way.
MSOE shot 47.3 percent in the game, hitting on 8-of-21 from three point range. It also got to the free throw often late to finish 18-for-25 in the game. The Red & White defense limited Concordia Chicago to just 34.5 percent shooting in the game and the Raiders outrebounded the Cougars 46-26.
The Red & White is back in action Wednesday at Concordia Wisconsin.
