Raiders Blow Past Concordia Chicago 89-52

MILWAUKEE – The MSOE men's basketball team jumped on Concordia Chicago from the start in rolling to a decisive 89-52 in conference play Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center.

The Raiders (6-4, 3-2 NACC) never trailed and led by as many as 28 in the first half in downing the Cougars (3-6, 3-3 NACC) for their fourth-straight win.

Senior Austin Stueck finished with a game-high 19 points as MSOE got a balanced effort on offense. Senior Connor Patterson was the team's only other double-digit scorer with 11 points, while junior Collin Seubert tallied nine points and four other players had seven.

Senior Garrison Glowniak finished with seven points and eight rebounds, while guarding the NACC's leading scorer in CUC's Kylan Anderson.

Mitch Pelissier led Concordia with 15 points. Mike Walmer added 14.

The Raiders scored the first nine points of the game in opening on a 17-2 run just over five minutes into the game. They made 11 of their first 15 from the field and then built a 28-point lead at 42-14 with 4:38 remaining until halftime.

MSOE shot 54.1 percent in the first half and took a 51-24 lead into halftime. CUC was limited to just 27.8 percent.

In the second half, the home team opened the frame with an 18-2 run. It then pushed its lead to a game-high 45 points when junior Alex Darville hit a lay-up at the 12:13 mark to make it 73-28. The Cougars pulled closer late in the game as both teams deepened their rotations.

The Raiders shot well above 50 percent for the second-straight game, finishing at 56.5 percent from the field with 10-of-23 three's. Concordia was limited to 31 percent shooting in the game. MSOE also finished with a decisive 49-31 rebounding advantage, leading to an 18-4 advantage in second chance points.

The Red & White offense and defense has been clicking of late. In this game, it held CUC over 33 points below its season scoring average and Anderson, who entered the game averaging 25.8 ppg, to just two points. During its four-game winning streak, MSOE is shooting 52.1 percent from the field and scoring 84.5 points per game, while allowing just 57.3 points.

The Raiders return to the court Wednesday, hosting Concordia Wisconsin to close out a five-game homestand.
